Environment Symposium by the Environment Committee on May 27

The Environment Symposium held by the Korean National Council of Women Environment Committee and the Kangwon Green Environment Support Center was presided by Project Team leader Noh, Yoon-kyung, where about 100 environment experts from various fields participated on the theme of “Causes for the occurrence of ultrafine particles and the countermeasures in daily lives.”
In the First Part of the Opening Ceremony that started with National Anthem, Chairwoman Cho, Suk-hee of the Environment Committee gave a welcoming speech, followed by congratulatory speeches by president Kim, Jung-sook and Chief Choi, Heung-jin of Climate Atmosphere Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Environment, and papers were presented on “Policy direction for reducing the occurrence of ultrafine particles” by Manager of Climate Atmosphere Policy Department Jung, Bok-young and on “Causes of ultrafine particles pollution and the countermeasures in daily lives” by Professor Kim, Dong-sul of Kyunghee University.
In the second part of free discussion moderated by Secretary General Cho, Ghil-young of National Assembly Environment Forum, Professor Kim, Shin-do of Seoul City College, Professor Lee, Seung-mook of Seoul National University Graduate School of Health, Dean Won, Jong-myung of Forestry Environment College of Kangwon University and President Hong, Yong-pyo of Korea Technology Convergence Research Institute participated as discussants to carry out heated debates on the current state of atmosphere pollution and the policies for reducing ultrafine particles in Korea.
